Sievert receives a medal from Chalmers University in Gothenburg Sweden

Sievert Larsson grew up in Majorna in Gothenburg, during his studies at the office school of SKF in the early 1960s, he learned both accounting, and new computer technology that was then its infancy. He was one of the first programmers in the country, when the meaning of that was unknown in wider circles. Sievert Larsson left SKF at the end of the 1970s and started a company in order to develop computer programs for accounting and taxes. The business grew over time, and later involved both real estate and insurance companies.

In 2007, Sievert Larsson donated his share of the business to a charity foundation. The Sievert Larsson Scholarship Foundation which provides young Thai people with the opportunity to study at a university or college. The initiative for the scholarship program came before the introduction of tuition fees for over-seas students and concerned living expenses. When the fees were introduced, Sievert Larsson extended the scholarship program to cover them. Through his magnificent and long-standing philanthropic activity. Sievert Larsson has invested in the education of young people, given them valuable international contacts and spread knowledge of Chalmers around the world.
