OUR PHILOSOPHY |

Our Philosophy

CYF and its parent charitable foundation SLSF have been working for many years but we have never sought external funding. We will continue to support our partner organizations so that poor children are not deprived of an education but we now want to expand our work. By helping, you can improve the lives of many children forever.

By helping, you can improve the lives of many children forever.

1. The gift of education is an everlasting gift. So, if you have to choose between giving your hard-earned money as donations to different causes, prioritize the education of our poor. It will repay back our society in multiple ways – the young will stay away from crimes, drugs, forced sex work, etc. They will grow up with the building blocks to build a better future for them and their families.

2. You CAN make a permanent and lasting difference in the lives of the underprivileged children – and that’s a joy which cannot be matched with any other. Once you see the impact of your contribution, and how it affects the upliftment of a child, it will leave an indelible mark on your heart.

3. Over the years, we have assessed and selected various organizations across Thailand which are doing stellar work in the field of ‘Education for the Poor’. We channel all our donations to these organizations.

4. You can ride with our recommendations and deal directly with these organizations, or channel it through us. We guarantee that any money received by us WILL be guided to the cause, with no deductions. All operational costs of our organization are borne by our own funds. So, your contribution will reach the various organizations in its entirety.

For many years, we have been uplifting the lives of poor children through education, come to join this noble cause and be a part of the legacy.

Our History

Mr Sievert Larsson has been actively involved in charitable giving in Thailand for more than 20 years.

Mr Sievert is a Swedish national with a great appreciation of the right of all children to a good education. In 1998, he made contact with a charity in Thailand which was working specifically with young people and helping their education. That charity was the Students’ Education Trust but later became The SET Foundation. Mr Sievert decided SET was a worthy recipient of his donations. Those donations to SET grew over the years and continue.

In 2005, Mr Sievert was introduced to the Wat Srakaew Orphanage by his friends Mr and Mrs Haemapun. He was very saddened to see the poor living conditions of the orphans. In that same year, in collaboration with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), he donated a 500-bed girls’ dormitory to the orphanage. In the following years, Mr Sievert was exposed to an ever-growing number of appalling stories of children who were uneducated or in forced labor, or through poverty had become involved in human trafficking or with drugs.

In 2017, SLSF established a new Thai-registered foundation to administer the activities of SLSF in Thailand. The foundation – Create Your Future – also enables Thai people to contribute directly to the charity’s objectives. CYF distributes 100% of donations to the partner organizations it supports, in the hope of providing an education to as many youngsters as possible.

In 2007, he decided to take his involvement even further by setting up his own charitable foundation: the Sievert Larsson Scholarship Foundation (SLSF). The foundation’s primary aim was to support youngsters who were not only in great financial need but who also showed great potential and were committed to making the most of their education opportunities.

In 2010, Mr Sievert appointed the Toonpanya Foundation to administer SLSF’s charitable giving in Chiang Mai and the Northern Region. The Northern Program currently supports a constant 350-400 students every year. SLSF then started supporting other charitable foundations across Thailand, including the New Life Center, the Migrant Assistance Program, Suan Dusit University and the Thai-Lahu Development Foundation. By that time, SLSF was offering education opportunities to more than 3,000 youngsters.

“Education is the best gift a society can give to its children. Ideally, education should be accessible to all children so that they can follow their interests to whatever end they prefer.
Unfortunately, there are so many children whose full access to education is denied because they come from situations of poverty. We at CYF envision and commit to helping encourage and strengthen each scholarship recipient to pursue their dreams and be the best that they can be. A well-educated child is the best gift that can be given to society.”

“The future of Thai society relies on good education. World has changed quickly and dramatically. The best chances are children are given the best education to access the right knowledge where they could grow far beyond they could imagine. Reaching beyond their expectations, then, these young generations could contribute back to the society. Giving one an opportunity for the best education is the best gift one could do to the young.”

“I firmly believe that education is the cornerstone of a successful life. It cultivates critical thinking, academic knowledge, and essential skills for both professional and personal endeavors in today’s modern society. Education fosters analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of various subjects. Not only is it a vital factor in individual and societal growth, but it is also a fundamental human right. Education lays the groundwork for building a strong and sustainable society. Investing in education is a crucial step towards a brighter future for all.”
